Friday 12th • Saturday 13th • Sunday 14th
Hyatt Regency Century Plaza
Los Angeles, California
The theme for this year's design concept and Special Exhibits is all about great books turned into great movies. We are exploring the journey a story makes from the book to the big screen, with a focus on Best Picture Academy Award-winning films.
From February 12th through 14th, 2010, over 200 members of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA.org) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB.org)* will exhibit books at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Five centuries of printing and manuscripts, some of which predate Gutenberg, will be available for purchase. Exhibitors will come from as far away as Australia and Argentina; others from Denmark and Spain. We shall have expert American dealers from throughout the United States, and we are proud to have many exhibitors from our own Southern California region.
**ABAA/ILAB members only, click here to register online
Our exhibitors will offer books on the history of travel & exploration (including maps), early science and medicine, technology & manufacture, law and commerce, children’s books, literature and the arts. There will be first editions of 20th century literature, complete with dust jackets and superb illustrated books in fine condition. There will be books with remarkable typography and books with original engravings and prints by renowned masters like Rembrandt, Picasso, and Miró. At our book fair, one can browse and purchase a 17th century Shakespeare folio, a 20th century Jack Kerouac novel, and even ephemera from the film industry.
In conjunction with our book fair, we shall host free seminars, more information to come.
Fair hours are Friday, February 12th from 4pm to 9pm; Saturday, February 13th from 11am to 7pm; Sunday, February 14th from 11am to 5pm. A three-day admission ticket can be purchased at the door on Friday, February 12 for $15.00. Tickets purchased on Saturday or Sunday are $10.00 and include return entry through the remainder of the fair.
